Your day-to-day / Āu mahi ia te rā:
You’ll bring Lotto NZ’s campaigns, products and digital experiences to life through creative, on‑brand copywriting. Your days will be a mix of creating, collaborating and fine‑tuning content that reaches millions of New Zealanders.
- Crafting copy — Develop draw scripts for the twice‑weekly live Lotto draw, producing engaging content and review community stories.
- Shape campaigns — Develop campaign straplines and supporting content, Instant Kiwi ticket names, TVC and radio scripts across multiple brands.
- Create digital content — Produce lifecycle emails, app updates, social posts, video scripts, display ads and landing page copy that feel seamless across web and app.
- Maintain brand voice — Evolve and uphold Lotto NZ’s tone of voice and digital copy guidelines to ensure consistency across every touchpoint.
- Collaborate widely — Work closely with Brand, Digital, Instant Kiwi and Communications teams to deliver high‑quality, on‑time content.
- Proof and polish — Review and edit marketing content, responsible gaming messages and digital copy to ensure clarity, accuracy and accessibility.
- Champion safe play — Embed responsible gaming principles into all communications, ensuring player wellbeing is always front of mind.
- Support team culture — Participate in marketing forums and contribute to a collaborative, creative environment.

You’ll join a tight-knit Creative Services crew that bring Lotto NZ’s stories, products, campaigns and purpose to life for millions of Kiwis. The team blends, designers, brand specialists and digital experts who care deeply about producing work that’s engaging, responsible and unmistakably Lotto NZ.
Every week, the team collaborates on everything from live draw scripts to national campaigns, Instant Kiwi concepts, social storytelling and digital experiences across the MyLotto app and website. They move fast, think creatively and work closely with partners across Brand, Digital and Instant Kiwi to keep content fresh, consistent and on‑brand.
As the marketing Copywriter, you become the voice‑shaper — the person who turns ideas, insights into clear, concise copy. You’ll help maintain and evolve Lotto NZ’s tone of voice, support optimisation across MyLotto, and ensure every message reflects our commitment to safe, responsible play.

As an experienced creative copywriter, you’ll be passionate about your craft and proud of the impact great storytelling can have. You’ll bring creativity, curiosity and a sharp eye for detail to everything you write. You will have:
- Proven writing experience — 5–10 years across digital, media and agency environments, with a portfolio that shows range and originality.
- A creative mindset — You generate fresh ideas, write with purpose and can switch easily between long‑form storytelling and punchy, CTA‑driven copy.
- Strong digital instincts — Comfortable writing for email, social, app, web and display formats, with an understanding of accessibility and customer‑centric design.
- Collaboration skills — You enjoy working with designers, marketers and digital specialists to bring campaigns to life.
- A love of detail — Grammar, punctuation and clarity matter to you; you’re confident proofreading and refining content.
- Adaptability and pace — You can juggle multiple projects, respond to feedback positively and deliver high‑quality work quickly.
- Brand voice confidence — You’ve created or maintained tone‑of‑voice guidelines and know how to keep messaging consistent across channels.
- Curiosity and drive — You’re open to learning, exploring new ideas and continuously improving your technique.
