Your day-to-day / Āu mahi ia te rā:

You'll be the bridge between business and the data team, working with stakeholders to understand needs, analyse processes, define requirements, manage jira backlog, run sprint ceremonies, and guide the delivery of data and analytics solutions. From facilitating workshops and documenting business processes to supporting testing and change adoption, you'll help ensure the right solutions are delivered in the right way. You will also be involved in day-to-day agile delivery, backlog, and sprint ceremonies.

Your team / Tō rōpū:

The Data & Analytics team sits at the heart of Lotto NZ's decision-making, working with stakeholders across the business to turn data into meaningful outcomes. Together, the team delivers data products, analytics, automation, and insights that help shape business initiatives, improve customer experiences, and support smarter decisions. As a Data Product Analyst, you'll play a key role in bridging the gap between business and technology, ensuring the right problems are understood, the right solutions are delivered, and the value of data is realised across the organisation.

  • While this role sits within the Data & Analytics team, its scope closely aligns with an Intermediate Business Analyst role, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, requirements discovery, process improvement, and translating business needs into valuable data and analytics solutions.
  • The team works in a flexible, hybrid way, balancing in-office collaboration with time to focus and do your best work.
  • It's a supportive team where people share ideas openly, challenge thinking constructively, and help each other learn and grow.
  • You'll work alongside specialists in data, analytics, and engineering while partnering with stakeholders across Lotto NZ to understand business needs and translate them into practical solutions.
  • The team is focused on delivering high-impact initiatives, from new data products and analytics capabilities to process improvements, automation, and emerging AI-driven opportunities.
  • You'll have the opportunity to influence how data is used across Lotto NZ, helping shape better ways of working and enabling more informed business decisions.
  • No two days are the same, giving you exposure to a broad range of stakeholders, business challenges, and initiatives across the organisation.
  • You'll be encouraged to bring new ideas, continuously improve processes, and help shape the future of data and analytics at Lotto NZ.

How we work in tech

  • We work in a collaborative, supportive way where everyone has a voice.
  • You’ll be part of a team that shares ideas openly, works closely across roles, and focuses on delivering outcomes rather than hierarchy.
  • We use modern practices and tools, and we’re always looking for ways to improve how we work — whether that’s simplifying processes, trying new approaches, or learning from each other.
