Your day-to-day:

The Senior Front End Developer has an eye for good software architecture and is comfortable collaborating and working with UX, Design, Integration, Delivery and IT Operation teams.  

With strong communication skills you join our tightly knit development team and enjoy a front seat in the planning and creation of our customer-facing digital experiences.

Your strong focus on delivering quality software that is standards compliant will see you champion this across the Digital Delivery space. 

• Updating and maintaining our existing codebase and helping architect our new platforms. 

• Delivering software which satisfies key business needs, while staying mindful of our unique purpose and constraints. 

• Working with RESTful APIs to integrate into the Lotto web and applications, 

• Documenting and championing best practices, coding standards, processes and frameworks to ensure all Lotto products are delivered in a consistent, high quality and secure fashion. 

• Helping other team members though coaching and peer reviews. 

• Working a part of an agile team using scrum and kanban frameworks to deliver agreed sprint outcomes. 

• Translating business requirements and technical designs into robust software solutions across web, app and retail solutions.

Your team:

The Senior Front End Developer should be able to work closely with UX, Design, Integration, Delivery and IT Operation teams. Playing a key role within the digital environment at Lotto NZ, you will report to the Development Manager to deliver on our organisational objectives, orchestrate delivery approaches with vendors, and architect and deliver front end solutions. 

A bit about you:

• Deep knowledge of front- end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6). 

• Experience architecting maintainable front-end applications and API integrations. 

• Expert with React, Typescript, Redux. 

• Experience of building mobile apps with Cordova and/or React Native. 

• Strong understanding of SASS or other pre-processor libraries following BEM methodology.

We have a hybrid model; you will be working from our Corporate HQ in Newmarket and can also spend some time working from home depending on project needs.
