Your day-to-day:

Test automation plays a key part in achieving quality and customer centric view for software delivery and Lotto NZ strives for frequent releases whilst maintaining integrity and quality of delivery.  This is where we require a fast thinker with strong technical skills in test engineering, programming and quality assurance.

You will focus on:

  • Implementing, and maintaining the automation testing framework for Lotto NZ.
  • Developing, and maintaining new and existing integration test scripts
  • Identifying bottlenecks and optimise scripts to improve performance and reliability
  • Improving automation tests running within our CI/CD pipelines
  • Aligning manual test cases with automation scripts to reduce overhead and regression times.
  • Automating test output reporting for easy consumption by stakeholders.
  • Reviewing nightly build runs and engage with relevant parties to resolve issues
  • Establish acceptance criteria as part of a specification by example.

Your team:

Joining a test-driven team committed to ensuring the latest web technologies in the MyLotto interactive channels and core Lotteries gaming systems are managed and delivered with integrity, you will get to work autonomously and manage test efforts on some additional exciting projects too.

A bit about you:

You’ll be an excellent communicator with outstanding organisation, time management, and interpersonal skills. In addition, you will have:

  • A minimum 5 years’ automation testing experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar.
  • Solid programming experience in JavaScript, ideally with ES6 and TypeScript.
  • Proven skills in testing responsive websites using Playwright
  • Experience in testing mobile apps (iOS & Android) using Appium.
  • Strong experience and understanding of Gherkin / Cucumber, SOAP UI, Jest (or similar framework), GIT, Jira (or similar) and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of Postman and SOAP UI for making API calls.

Advanced technical ISTQB qualifications would be highly regarded and your pragmatic approach to testing will add value to ensure our 24/7/365 services are robust, available and enhanced both prior to and after the implementation of new services and tools.
