Your day-to-day:
Lotto New Zealand has a rare opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst to join our Transformation team on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract. Reporting to the Business Analysis Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting a busy programme of work across our Retail Systems product backlog and wider business transformation initiatives.
You’ll help shape and
deliver meaningful business change — from CRM enhancements to supporting integrations
with platforms that feed into our upgraded core gaming system, through to improvements
across retail operations. This is a great chance to make a tangible impact in
an organisation that gives back to communities across Aotearoa.
- Elicit, capture, analyse, and document business requirements across a range of projects.
- Assess the impact of business change and translate requirements for delivery teams.
- Support the communication and delivery of requirements across technical and business stakeholders.
- Work within cross‑functional teams, including technology and suppliers, contributing to established BA practice and ways of working.
- Engage with stakeholders including product owners, consultants, business owners, and delivery teams.
- Work across multiple systems including CRM, retail systems, and our core gaming lottery engine.
- Support agile & hybrid delivery with user stories, backlog grooming, and sprint planning.

You’ll be part of the Business
Transformation Office within
Lotto NZ’s Transformation &
Technology division, a passionate, future-focused team
driving meaningful change across the organisation. Reporting to the Business
Analysis Manager and working alongside the Retail Systems Product Owner and the
Retail Operations team, you’ll
collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver smarter, faster, and more
efficient solutions.
The team is currently working on exciting initiatives that include enhancing our retail systems and improving our retail operations through innovative technology. Your role is key to identifying opportunities, shaping solutions, and ensuring successful delivery, from discovery to implementation.
A bit about you:
- 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.
- Strong experience with requirements gathering and management for retail systems.
- Solid understanding of BA methodologies and practices in complex IT and business change projects.
- Experience with functional and non‑functional requirements, process modelling, and system integration.
- Ability to work across organisational boundaries and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience using tools such as SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence, and process‑modelling software.
- Knowledge of IT applications, including CRM SAP, or other ERP systems.
